Six people have been arrested in connection with an alleged kidnapping in Scarborough last month, and police are asking the public for help identifying two remaining suspects.
Police say they responded to a call for a kidnapping in the Midland Avenue and Sheppard Avenue E. area on July 19.
They say eight men lured a victim into an establishment, held them against their will and assaulted them and stole their personal and banking information. The victim’s age and gender have not been released.
The men allegedly stole cash from the victim’s bank accounts before dropping the victim off in a remote area where they were unable to call police.
Police say the victim was later transported to hospital with serious, but non-life-threatening injuries.
The six men facing charges are all from the GTA, police say, and range in age from 20 to 29. They face a combined 30 charges, some of which include forcible confinement, aggravated assault and extortion.
The two outstanding suspects are both male, police said.
The first is described as wearing a camouflage baseball hat, black jacket, black and white Nike shoes and grey pants. The second is described as wearing a black sweater, black pants with white writing on the right leg, black and white shoes and a black balaclava.
