Man extradited from Jamaica, charged with 2nd-degree murder in Toronto homicide

A man previously wanted in connection with a homicide in Scarborough earlier this year has been extradited to Canada and charged with second-degree murder, Toronto police say.

The 30-year-old man was brought back to Canada from Jamaica on Aug. 9 with the help of the service’s fugitive squad, police said Monday.

He was scheduled to appear in court for a bail hearing this past Saturday.

Mohamed “Mo” Abdalla Mohamed, 40, was found dead inside an apartment in the area of Lawrence Avenue E. and Morningside Road on the morning of April 24.

His body had “obvious signs of trauma,” investigators said at the time, without elaborating further on the nature of his fatal injuries.

Anyone with information about the case can contact Toronto police or leave an anonymous tip with Crime Stoppers.
