Amid several recent high-profile violent crimes and killings, including the separate abductions and slayings of two Markham woman, York region’s police chief will be providing insights into the “recent increase in crime within the region.”
Chief Jim MacSween is scheduled to address the media Tuesday morning at police headquarters, in what’s expected to be a press conference detailing how his jurisdiction has been “experiencing a surge in violent crime including gun crime and carjackings,” police say.
