A motorcyclist is dead after a single-vehicle crash in Clarington on Thursday, Ontario Provincial Police say.
The crash happened in the area of Highway 401 and Highway 418, the OPP said in a post on X, formerly Twitter. Police say they were called to the area shortly before 4 p.m.
The motorcycle ended up in a grassy ditch and the driver was pronounced dead at the scene, according to police.
The driver’s age and sex has not been released.
Police say the Highway 418 northbound on-ramp from Highway 401 westbound is closed due to the collision.
The OPP’s Whitby detachment is urging anyone with information to come forward.
