Orangutan safely returned to enclosure after escaping Thursday evening: Toronto zoo

One of the Toronto Zoo’s orangutans got up to some monkey business on Thursday when he briefly escaped his outdoor habitat.

According to posts on its social media, the zoo was notified by a volunteer earlier in the evening that one of the male orangutans, Kembali, had “accessed an area just outside of the new outdoor habitat.” The zoo says staff cleared the area of guests and were able to return the escaped orangutan to his enclosure without incident.
