‘Disgusting’ apartment ad offering ‘friends with benefits’ discount shared at Brampton council meeting

Brampton Coun. Dennis Keenan responded to ongoing criticism of the city’s efforts to curb illegal apartments and rooming houses at council’s most-recent meeting with some concerning examples of apartment rental ads.

Keenan said he encounters protesters on a weekly basis who are angry with the city’s residential rental licensing (RRL) pilot program, which requires landlords in five of the city’s electoral wards with between one and four rental units to pay a $300 annual fee to register and licence their units and submit to safety inspections.
