Ex-Hedley frontman Jacob Hoggard is expected to learn this week whether he will be released from jail as he tries to appeal his sexual assault conviction to the Supreme Court of Canada.
On Tuesday morning, a lawyer for the former pop star argued before Ontario Court of Appeal Justice Jill Copeland that there’s no risk to public safety and that the now-convicted sex offender has always complied with his bail conditions in the past. The Crown is opposing Hoggard’s bail application, and Copeland said she expects to deliver her decision this week.
