Fall is one of my favourite times of year (tied with Christmas) and there’s nothing I love more than getting into the autumn spirit.

As soon as the temperature drops and the leaves start to change, I know it’s time to plan my annual apple picking date.

It’s such a fun way to experience the harvest season and breathe in that fresh fall air. Plus, it means fresh apple pies and warm apple crisps for days to come.

I decided to check out a charming orchard located just outside of Toronto and it was a mini fall haven.

Tucked away amidst golden-hued trees, Pine Farms Orchard is an enchanting destination where you can pick your own apples and indulge in the flavours of the season.

Located in King, the orchard boasts rolling hills of apple trees, a cute bakeshop, cafe, market and fall photo ops.

There are 21 varieties of apples and picking season ranges from mid-August into October.

I grabbed some bags and wandered along the sweet-smelling rows of trees, selecting ruby-red and bright green apples for my pies. The scenery was gorgeous and the orchard was so large that I could easily avoid crowds.

The Orchard Café and bakeshop are a must-visit.

Located in a charming cabin, the cafe offers take-away dishes that you can enjoy on the patio surrounded by the orchard garden and dwarf apple trees.

I felt like I was in a cozy fall fairytale as I wandered up to the cute cabin decked out with decor and string lights.

Menu items include pulled pork sandwiches, brie and apple melts, fresh soup and mac and cheese.

You can also dig into some treats from the bakeshop like homemade cookies, pastries, donuts, croissants, butter tarts and more.

There was a bit of a lineup for lunch when I visited, but it was worth the wait. I ordered the pulled pork sandwich and loved every bite.

Before you leave, you’ll want to stop by the market where you’ll find local produce including fresh pressed apple cider.

For more fall vibes, pack your hiking shoes or bike and head to the nearby Oak Ridges Trail where you can soak up views of the colourful foliage.

The farm can get busy on the weekends and may reach capacity, so be sure to plan accordingly.

If you’re looking for a cute fall adventure, this charming orchard is worth a visit.
