A woman is dead after being stabbed in a home in Scarborough Sunday afternoon.
Toronto police say they received a call for a stabbing at a residence on Merkley Square, in the area of Ellesmere Road and Orton Park Road, just before 5 p.m.
When officers arrived, they found a woman suffering from serious injuries. Police said she was pronounced dead at the scene.
Meanwhile, the man who police say stabbed the victim was subsequently taken into custody. There is no immediate word on charges.
Police have not said if the victim knew the suspect.
