All westbound lanes of the Gardiner Expressway have reopened at the Park Lawn Road exit in Etobicoke after they were temporarily closed for a crash investigation, police say.
Toronto police said it responded around 5:30 a.m. Monday to reports of a two vehicle collision on the westbound section of the highway.
That crash wasn’t serious, but while responding at the scene a Toronto Fire truck was struck by a third vehicle that wasn’t involved in the initial crash, Toronto police Const. Viktor Sarudi told CBC News.
The man driving the vehicle that struck the fire truck was transported to hospital with serious but non-life threatening injuries, Sarudi said. No firefighters were injured, he added.
Traffic was diverted for several hours due to the closure, but the roads have since reopened.
