A baby girl and a woman are in critical condition following a two-alarm house fire in Toronto overnight.
Fire crews were called to the residence at Trethewey Drive and Yore Road in the Greenhills neighbourhood just after 1 a.m.
Toronto Paramedic Services confirmed that a pediatric girl patient, with no word on the exact age, was sent to the hospital with life-threatening injuries, and one 19-year-old woman was to the hospital with serious, potentially life-threatening injuries.
Toronto Fire Services said crews arrived at the home and attempted to contain a fully involved backdeck fire. Four patients were treated at the scene but weren’t transported to a hospital.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
