‘I don’t know how we can sell it’: Why Mayor Carolyn Parrish quit police board over budget hike

Mississauga Mayor Carolyn Parrish said her decision to resign from the Peel Region police board came about because she thinks the region has other pressing problems to deal with in addition to crime.

Parrish, who announced her resignation on Friday, said she had to quit in order to be more openly critical of the police force’s request for a 21 per cent budget increase.
