Toronto’s city council has appointed Jim Jessop as the new chief and general manager of Toronto Fire Services.
Jessop is currently the deputy fire chief and previously served as acting fire chief and general manager from August 2020 to April 2022. Former fire chief Matthew Pegg formally retired in October after announcing his intention to step down from the position in May.
