Severe snow squalls in parts of Ontario leave thousands without power, close highways

Severe snow squalls continued to blanket parts of Ontario on Saturday, leaving more 25,000 homes without power and causing unsafe driving conditions in cottage country north of Toronto. 

According to Hydro One, power outages were reported from Orillia and heading up to Parry Sound, Ont., with 26,089 customers affected as of Saturday afternoon due to the severe weather conditions. Crews are on-site and are working to restore the power, they said.
