Man in his 50s struck by a vehicle in Scarborough

Toronto police say a male pedestrian in his 50s was struck by a vehicle in Scarborough on Saturday afternoon.

Officers were called to the area of McCowan Road and Kingston Road, near Cliffcrest Plaza, just after 3:30 p.m. 

The pedestrian suffered serious injuries and was transported to a hospital by paramedics.

Police say the driver remained at the scene.

No other details have been released.
