Can Toronto meet its climate change-fighting goals? The latest numbers show a snapshot — and a setback

The city admits it is unlikely to meet the next target in its climate change-fighting plan, after greenhouse gas emissions went up instead of down, according to a new report.

Toronto’s community-wide emissions went up by five per cent in 2022, compared to the year before, the city’s latest inventory has found. The inventory is published with a two-year lag.
