Call it the Ford Effect: How lashing out at the city can spark an unintended reaction — and make for a better Toronto

Premier Doug Ford’s war on bike lanes is having some unintended consequences — a phenomenon I have seen before and mentally dubbed “the Ford Effect.” 

My definition of the Ford Effect: To strike forcefully to achieve a political aim and, in doing so, cause unintended emotions or enlightenment about something the public previously knew little about.
