City employees union ratifies collective agreement; paramedics reject deal

One of the city’s two largest employee unions ratified a new four-year deal Friday, but paramedics rejected a separate agreement and will head back to the bargaining table.

The main unit of CUPE Local 416, representing about 4,200 workers, approved a new collective agreement with the city, which included annual wage hikes of between three and 3.95 per cent.
