Diagnosed at 24, she’s marking her first Christmas with cancer. She’s trying to feel grateful — and to be included

Kasia Tywonek had her world turned upside down when she was diagnosed with cancer this year at age 24.

She was working a full-time job in pharmaceutical marketing in Toronto, about an hour away from her family in Hamilton, and living with her boyfriend. But after developing some symptoms, Tywonek was diagnosed with T-cell leukemia in March.
