More than 80,000 people were homeless in Ontario in 2024, report finds

About 81,500 people experienced homelessness in Ontario in 2024, a number that could rise to more than 294,000 by 2035 without significant government intervention, a new report has found.

The analysis is the first of its kind, said the report titled “Municipalities under pressure: The human and financial cost of Ontario’s homelessness crisis.”
