A Toronto man is facing more than 18 charges in connection to a fraudulent loan scam that targeted members of the Chinese community in North York, police said.
The accused approached younger Chinese residents in the North York area asking for gas money to drive to university or to pick up family, according to a news release by Toronto police, adding that victims would send e-transfers to the accused.
