Mayor Olivia Chow urged to invest in tackling youth unemployment and violence in upcoming Toronto budget

Toronto must focus on youth in its 2025 budget if it wants to improve young people’s socio-economic conditions, say the city’s youth cabinet and school boards.

On Wednesday, the Toronto Youth Cabinet, along with the public and Catholic boards, issued a joint statement calling on the mayor to invest $46.2 million in youth-focused initiatives, such as creating job opportunities, enhancing student nutrition programs and supporting community-led after-school programming.
