Police in York Region have issued an arrest warrant for a 34-year-old man for an alleged assault and probation violations.
Police say they were called to a motel in the Highway 48 and Thomas Drive area in Georgina around 9:45 p.m. on Feb. 3. A victim told police they had been assaulted by a man and that he may be in possession of a firearm.
Officers executed a search warrant on Feb. 4 at a unit associated with the suspect and allegedly located ammunition and a quantity of illegal drugs.
A warrant has been issued for Kariym White who is wanted for assault and drug charges, three counts of possession of a firearm or ammunition in violation of a probation order and two counts of breaching probation.
Investigators say that at the time of the incident, White was on three weapons prohibitions and probation for unrelated offences.
“White is considered armed and dangerous,” police said in a release. “If seen, citizens are urged not to approach him but call police immediately.”
