York Regional Police have released security footage showing a suspect setting a tow truck on fire in a Markham neighbourhood.
Emergency crews were called to a home on Williamson Road at around 12:44 a.m. on Thursday, April 25, for reports of a fire.
When emergency crews arrived the vehicle was engulfed in flames.
The truck was unoccupied at the time and police say the fire didn’t spread to the residence. No injuries were reported.
Video of the incident shows a four-door sedan park nearby. A suspect exits the vehicle and walks towards the driveway where the tow truck is parked.
The suspect then appears to pour an accelerant over the vehicle and set it ablaze before heading back to the getaway car and fleeing the area.
No arrests have been made.
