Ontario’s weather has been warm and sunny lately but things might take a turn later today.
“On Tuesday, southwestern Ontario will get a sneak preview of what the summer months will bring, with the chance for severe thunderstorms popping up in the region,” says The Weather Network.
The thunderstorms will come as a result of a warm front before things might potentially get stormy in the evening.
“With any severe storm that forms, the main hazards will be heavy rain, hail and gusty winds,” says TWN. “However, the timing of the front and the precipitation differs between models. The uncertainty will make or break the severe thunderstorm potential in the southwest.”
If you’re going to be on the road later today, keep an eye on the weather and drive with caution in case of severe weather as it may lead to hazardous conditions.
“Beyond, periods of rain will develop Thursday and linger into Friday with colder-than-normal temperatures,” explains the weather agency. “Scattered showers are likely this weekend, especially on Sunday, with a brisk wind and cooler-than-seasonal temperatures.”
As for next week, it’s not going to be a very hot one.
“Cool weather is expected early next week, but temperatures should rebound for a couple days mid-week,” says TWN. “Heat-seekers will be disappointed to know that there will be no consistent warm weather is through the long weekend.”
