Endless fields of colourful tulips might seem like something you’d find on a trip to The Netherlands, but Ontario has its fair share of dreamy tulip farms.

With May in full swing, tulips have burst into bloom across the province, creating a kaleidoscope of vibrant hues.

I recently took a trip to Ontario’s “biggest” tulip farm, located about an hour and 20 minutes from Toronto, and it was like a mini spring trip to Europe.

With stretching pastel fields, sweet-smelling blooms and cute photo ops, the farm was an enchanting place to spend an afternoon.

Tasc Tulip Pick Farm boasts 2 million blooms spread across 40 acres. This year, the farm has a new location in Ridgeville, and I couldn’t wait to check it out.

After enduring some classic GTA traffic, I finally arrived at this floral destination. Since I was visiting on a weekend, the farm was very busy, so make sure you buy your tickets online in advance if you plan on going.

I’d seen pictures of the fields, but seeing it in person was a whole other experience. The rows of vibrant tulips seemed to go on forever, and there were flowers in every colour imaginable.

There are 10 tulips included with your ticket and each additional stem costs $1. I grabbed a bucket and headed into the pastel fields, excited to start creating my own bouquet.

I definitely took my time selecting my tulips. There were so many different shades and types available, from fuchsia blooms to multi-coloured ones.

Once I had my 10 tulips, I made my way to the non-picking field, reserved just for photos. It was filled with different sections of tulips and was a great spot to snap some Insta-worthy shots. I loved the concept of an area just for photos — it was nice not to worry about getting in the way of people’s tulip picking experiences.

The farm has some food trucks on site where you can get pizza, funnel cake and BeaverTails. There’s also a tent filled with merchandise and Dutch-themed items.

Before you leave, staff will wrap your bouquet for you so it’s convenient to bring home.

It was so nice to escape the city and get lost in fields of flowers. If you’re planning a trip to the farm, make sure you book your visit in advance and expect some traffic during the weekends.
