Mississauga’s mayoral front-runner Carolyn Parrish announced she would be declining all future debates in a social media post on Monday afternoon, hours before a sold-out debate on the housing crisis was set to take place, telling the Star she made the decision because she has been “personally threatened.”
The move comes a week after an all-candidates debate where Parrish allegedly made controversial statements that critics called transphobic and discriminatory towards refugee claimants — and that has led to criticism on social media.
