Police ID victim of quintuple Etobicoke shooting

Toronto police have identified a man who died after five people were shot in an Etobicoke high school parking lot on Sunday.

In a news release Tuesday, investigators said 61-year-old Woodstock man Delroy “George” Parkes was fatally shot in a North Albion Collegiate Institute parking lot, near the corner of Mount Olive Drive and Kipling Avenue, on Sunday.

In the news release, police said a group of men were gathered there after a soccer game when a dark pickup truck pulled into the parking lot.

Two suspects then got out and shot at the group of men before taking off in the truck, police said.

When officers got there they found five people suffering with gunshot wounds, according to the news release. All of them were taken to hospital, where Parkes later died.

Police say the other victims have a mix of either life-altering or non-life-threatening injuries.

Investigators are still searching for suspects and are asking for members of the public to come forward if they have any information.
