If you’re craving a weekend road trip you’ll want to start your car and head to this cute small town near Toronto. Located just an hour away from the city, the lakeside village boasts quaint streets and beautiful water views.

This weekend, the town is hosting a Dragon Boat Festival and you can enjoy the races while soaking up some sun. There are several other events happening throughout the summer to check out as well.

The small town will whisk you back in time with its historic Main Street and quaint shops.

On June 15, the Dragon Boat Festival is taking place and you can watch the boats speed across the lake. There is also a Saturday Farmer’s Market happening right beside the race so you can do a bit of shopping.

Other summer events include the Summer Solstice Sidewalk Sale on June 21 and Roar by the Shore on June 23, which features live music and lakeside entertainment.

While in town, you’ll want to stop by Old Flame Brewing Co. for a boozy drink, indulge in a lakeside meal at the Boathouse Grill or check out the Scugog Shores Museum Village.
