Toronto to see high levels of air pollution amid ‘dangerously hot and humid’ weather this week

With the Air Quality Health Index (AQHI) reaching moderate to high risk levels amid the city’s “dangerously hot and humid conditions,” looks like Toronto is in for a “Cruel Summer” as Taylor Swift would call it.

Environment Canada has issued a special air quality statement for Toronto and some surrounding areas in Ontario saying that high levels of air pollution are possible Tuesday afternoon and evening.

Experts say a long-lasting heat dome and showers will likely bring sweltering, “jungle-like” conditions to the GTA. Here’s what you can expect.
