Late one night in November 2010, police dispatchers received a frantic call from a young woman claiming multiple armed men had barged into her family home in Markham and demanded money.
The caller, then 24-year old Jennifer Pan, said the intruders had tied her up, shot both her parents and fled the scene. Her father, Huei Hann Pan, could be heard wailing in the background; her mother, Bich Ha Pan, died instantly.
