Second dog reported dead at Hamilton pet-sitting business

Another Hamilton family is looking for answers after their dog died in the care of a Westdale pet-sitter over the weekend — marking two dog deaths at the boarding business in less than 24 hours.

Meanwhile, Hamilton police are investigating the conduct of protesters who gathered outside the Parkside Drive home and around the neighbourhood Wednesday night, as community outrage continued to grow both in person and online.

Cartelo, an American pocket bully, died while under the care of a pet-sitter in Westdale earlier this month.

Kippen Cares

A pair of crosses were erected across the street from the home of Kippen Cares, a dog boarding business on Parkside Drive in Hamilton, where two dogs died earlier this month.

Kippen House

Protesters remained outside the home of Jessica Kippen, owner of Kippen Cares, on Thursday. Two owners say their dogs died in the care of Kippen, whose business is under investigation by Provincial Animal Welfare Services.
