Provincial charges laid after workers fatally burned at Stelco Lake Erie Works

The province has laid a series of health and safety charges after sheet metal workers Gabe Cabral and Sean MacPherson were fatally burned last year at Stelco’s Lake Erie Works.

The men, both employees of Hamilton-based John Kenyon Limited, were working at the Nanticoke steel mill April 25, 2023, when they were badly burned by steam from a “coke quench,” according to a provincial labour ministry report obtained by The Sachem.
