Toronto Police say man’s face was slashed in random North York attack

Toronto Police say a man who was walking along a pathway in North York was randomly attacked by a suspect who punched him in the head repeatedly before pulling out a knife and slashing his chest and face.

The frightening incident took place on Friday, July 5, at 12:17 p.m. on a pathway in the Sunrise Avenue and Victoria Park Avenue area.

Police say the attack was unprovoked and started with the suspect pouncing on the victim’s back and punching his head several times.

The sudden violence escalated even further when police say the suspect slashed the victim’s chest and face with a knife, leading to serious injuries that were treated in hospital.

The suspect is described as around five foot ten, 30 to 35 years old with dark hair. He was wearing a white T-shirt, black shorts and black Adidas shoes.
