Toronto could see heavy rain starting Tuesday night due to Hurricane Beryl remnants

Following two days of hot and humid temperatures, Torontonians should have their umbrellas and raincoats handy as Environment Canada warns of heavy rainfall due to the after-effects of Hurricane Beryl.

On Tuesday, Environment Canada issued a special weather statement for potential torrential downpours with 20 to 40 milimetres of rainfall per hour and localized rainfall totals possibly well in the excess of 50 mm starting late Tuesday night or Wednesday through Thursday.
