A 42-year-old woman was fatally struck by a driver in the crosswalk of a downtown street Thursday evening, Toronto police say.
The collision happened at the corner of Queen Street E. and Sackville Street around 5:45 p.m.
The woman was southbound in the crosswalk when she was hit by a 70-year-old man behind the wheel of a Cadillac sedan heading westbound on Queen, police said in a news release Friday.
She was rushed to hospital, where she was pronounced dead.
Police previously said the driver remained at the scene and spoke to investigators.
Police are urging any witnesses or anyone with relevant dashcam video to contact them.
