2nd man charged with murder in Oshawa stabbing

A second person has been charged with murder in the death of a 62-year-old man in Oshawa in January, Durham police say.

Police say they responded to reports of a disturbance on January 22 near Dean Avenue and Ritson Road South. They found a man outside a residence with obvious signs of trauma.

The victim, Steven Turgeon, was taken to hospital, where he died from stab wounds.

Police said two suspects fled the area on foot. They located one suspect, a 32-year-old man from Clarington, who was charged with second-degree murder, according to the January news release.

In a news release Tuesday afternoon, police said a 26-year-old man from Toronto has now also been charged with second-degree murder.

Anyone with information about the stabbing or who has video surveillance footage is asked to contact investigators or leave an anonymous tip with Crime Stoppers.
