1 dead, 2 significantly injured after Brampton head-on collision Sunday: police

A man is dead and two are in hospital with life-threatening injuries following a two-vehicle head-on collision in Brampton Sunday morning, police say.

In a post to X, formerly Twitter, Peel Regional Police say they responded to a collision on Bovaird Drive east of Heritage Road just after 11 a.m.

They found two people inside one of the vehicles, and one person in the other. Two were airlifted to hospital, while the other was taken by ambulance, police say.

The passenger of the first vehicle later died from his injuries, police said Sunday afternoon.

Police are asking drivers to avoid the area, saying Bovaird Drive will remain closed for some time between Heritage and Mississauga roads.

The major collision bureau is now investigating, police say. Investigators are asking any witnesses, or anyone with dashcam footage of the collision, to come forward.
