2 men injured in west end Toronto stabbing

Two people were injured in a stabbing that was reportedly sparked by a conflict about fireworks, Toronto police say.

Toronto police were called to Lake Shore Boulevard W. and Parkside Drive in the west end around 10:45 p.m. Monday.

A man in his 30s was taken to the hospital, police said later that night in a post on X, formerly Twitter.

A second man took himself to the hospital with injuries that were not life threatening, police said.

On Tuesday morning, Const. Caroline de Kloet said the man in his 30s had “wounds to the back.” She did not provide an update on his condition.

Police said two groups of men reportedly pointed fireworks at one another, which de Kloet said “escalated into a physical altercation.”

Police said an arrest has been made and details are expected later on Tuesday.
