A man has died after a shooting in Toronto Thursday night, police say.
Officers responded to reports of gunshots heard in North York, near Finch Avenue West and Dufferin Street, at 10:46 p.m.
When police arrived, they found a dark-coloured SUV with multiple bullet holes to the vehicle, a news release Friday said.
Officers initially said they found a person with gunshot wounds inside a vehicle on arrival, but later confirmed he was found outside. The man was pronounced dead at the scene, they said.
Police have identified the victim as Alexander Vinogradsky, 39 of Thornhill. The homicide unit will be investigating the death.
Investigators say the suspect fled in a black Mercedes. No other information has been released.
