A man is dead after being shot inside an apartment building in Oshawa Tuesday, Durham police say.
Police responded to reports of gunshots at 1040 Cedar Street just after 2 p.m. on Tuesday, acting Duty Insp. Craig McCabe said at a news conference later that day. The address is an apartment building.
Officers found a man suffering from a gunshot wound, McCabe said, adding that the victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
McCabe said police believe the shooting happened inside the building, but couldn’t say where.
A forensic unit is now processing the scene while officers are canvassing the area for more information and are expected to be there for “quite some time”, McCabe said.
Police haven’t provided any other details about the victim.
