A 27-year-old motorcyclist was killed in a crash on Highway 401 in Scarborough early Wednesday, provincial police say.
The collision happened just before 7 a.m. in the westbound collector lanes near Port Union Road, according to OPP Sgt. Kerry Schmidt. The other vehicle involved in the crash was a pickup truck, he said.
The motorcycle rider was taken to hospital, where they were pronounced dead. Schmidt did not provide any further information about the person.
The westbound collector lanes are closed at Whites Road for the police investigation. Schmidt said he expects the closure to remain in place for several hours.
Anyone who may have relevant information or dashcam video for investigators is asked to contact the OPP.
