Multiple people injured in crash involving car, 2 TTC buses

Multiple people were injured during a crash involving a car and two TTC buses in Forest Hill early Wednesday, emergency services say.

The collision happened around 4:50 a.m. near the corner of Bathurst Street and Eglinton Avenue W.

The circumstances of the crash are still under investigation, but according to Toronto Fire, the passenger vehicle was on fire when crews arrived at the scene. A spokesperson said a passerby may have removed the single occupant of the vehicle before they were transferred to the care of paramedics.

One man in his 20s was taken to a trauma centre with serious but non-life threatening injuries, paramedics said. Three other people were taken to hospital with minor injuries.

Police said they are investigating the possibility one of the vehicles involved in the crash ran a red light.

The intersection of Bathurst and Eglinton was closed for the investigation. Police did not say when they expect it to reopen.

The TTC said the 7 Bathurst bus is detouring in the area, and there is no service between six streets north of Eglinton and 11 streets south of Eglinton.
