Toronto police have identified a man who died in hospital after he was stabbed in a downtown park early Wednesday.
Donovan Wynn, 47, of Toronto, was fatally stabbed at Allan Gardens, near Gerrard Street E. and Sherbourne Street, police said in a news release on Friday.
According to police, officers were called to Allan Gardens at about 12:10 a.m. for a report of a stabbing.
When emergency personnel arrived, they found a man suffering from stab wounds, police said. On Wednesday, police said he was found injured and unconscious.
Toronto paramedics tried to save his life and took him to hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
An image from the scene showed a motorized wheelchair cordoned off by police tape and investigators marking a number of personal belongings on the ground.
There’s no word on suspects. Wynn is the city’s 40th homicide victim of the year.
Police are asking witnesses and anyone who was in the area at the time to come forward.
