Ride share driver stabbed by passenger in Scarborough, police say

A ride share driver is in serious condition after being stabbed by a passenger in Scarborough, Toronto police say.

Police said the stabbing happened in a vehicle in the area of Kingston Road and Sheppard Avenue East.  Officers were called to the area shortly before 2 p.m.

Toronto paramedics took the driver to hospital.

Police have not said which ride share company the driver works with.

Police described the suspect as male, about five foot seven, with a slim build and about 20 to 25 years old.

Police are searching for the suspect. No roads have been closed but people are urged to avoid the area.
