Toronto could be in store for heavy rain Friday due to slow-moving thunderstorms, Environment Canada says.
Torrential downpours are expected to start in the morning and persist until the evening, the federal weather agency said in a special weather statement.
A total of 30 to 60 millimetres of rainfall is possible and some areas can experience higher amounts, it said.
“Heavy downpours can cause flash floods and water pooling on roads. Localized flooding in low-lying areas is possible,” the statement said.
“Rainfall warnings may be issued.”
