Toronto police have arrested four men in connection with a drug trafficking and firearms investigation.
Officers say they witnessed an alleged drug deal between two people on Wednesday as they were patrolling the area of Queen Street West and Bathurst Street.
Police then arrested 38-year-old Nathaniel Williams of Toronto for trafficking a Schedule 1 substance and assault with intent to resist or prevent arrest.
He also faces charges for possession of narcotics for the purpose of trafficking and possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000.
Following his arrest, investigators executed a search warrant on Williams’ residence where officers allegedly recovered two loaded firearms, ammunition, drug paraphernalia, a bayonet and three replica firearms.
Williams now faces five additional charges for possessing a prohibited firearm without a licence, careless storage of a firearm and failing to comply with a release order.
Three other men were also located inside the residence and were subsequently arrested and charged.
Police arrested 18-year-old Mubarek Ajetunmobi and 19-year-old Emmanuel Grant of Toronto. They both face multiple charges, including possession of a restricted firearm without a licence and breach of probation.
A fourth man, 18-year-old Joel Drummond of Oshawa, was also arrested and faces similar charges for possession of a restricted firearm without a licence and careless storage of ammunition.
All four men were scheduled to appear in court at the Toronto Regional Bail Centre on Thursday.
