Calgary man charged in Mississauga violent home invasion back in 2023

A Calgary man has been charged in a violent Mississauga home invasion from 2023.

Peel police say on Oct. 23, 2023, four suspects allegedly forced their way into a home in the area of Mavis and Bristol roads while wearing hard hats and carrying clipboards.

Once inside, police allege the suspects violently assaulted and forcibly confined the victims while brandishing a handgun and making demands for property and money.

The victims suffered multiple serious, but non-life-threatening injuries.

Following an investigation, Carlos Sance Castro, 25, of Calgary, was allegedly identified as one of the suspects. A Canada-wide warrant was issued and he was located in Calgary by police.

Sance Castro was arrested and transported back to Peel Region. He’s facing charges of robbery, forcible confinement and assault causing bodily harm.

The investigation is still ongoing and police say more charges may be laid.

One other man, a 34-year-old of no fixed address, was arrested earlier this year in connection with the same incident.
