Man charged in fire at retail store that caused over $10M in damages

A man is facing charges after a fire at a retail store caused over $10 million in damages.

The large fire happened late Monday night at a retail store at Square One Shopping Mall. The fire was extinguished by firefights and determined to be suspicious in nature by investigators.

The Ontario Fire Marshall’s office has been called in to investigate.

No injuries were reported.

Damage to the store, its inventory and lost revenue is expected to exceed $10 million.

Wyatt Diamond-Harbour, 29, of no fixed address, has been arrested and charged with arson causing damage to property and breach of a probation order.

He has been held pending a bail hearing.
