Police have closed a section of Dundas Street West in downtown Toronto due to concerns that a two-storey building may collapse.
In a social media post, the Toronto Police Service (TPS) said the building is “leaning” towards the sidewalk and street area on Dundas Street West at Augusta Avenue.
Dundas is currently closed between Augusta and Denison avenues.
The building has businesses on the lower level, and apartments on the second floor.
Toronto Fire Services tells CityNews that the front façade is “structurally compromised with potential to collapse.”
The building has been evacuated. There are no reports of injuries.
It’s not clear yet what has caused the structural issues.
